Olawale serves as the Managing Partner of Market Access Africa, a life science consulting and advisory firm dedicated to improving access to essential health solutions across sub-Saharan Africa. With more than 15 years of experience in global health, he has built a career focused on practical strategies to ensure medicines, diagnostics, and therapeutics reach underserved populations.
In his current role, Olawale leads efforts to connect innovative healthcare products with the communities that need them most. His work at Market Access Africa emphasizes collaboration between public and private sectors, addressing challenges in market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and local manufacturing capacity. He is a firm believer in strengthening Africa’s healthcare infrastructure through sustainable, locally driven solutions.
Olawale's professional background includes significant roles with prominent organizations. He previously served as Head of Access for Neglected Tropical Diseases at the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi), where he worked to expand treatment availability for vulnerable populations. His time as a Technical Officer at Unitaid and various positions at the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI)—including Global Deputy Director of Maternal and Newborn Health and Deputy Country Manager for Tanzania—deepened his expertise in health systems and access programs across disease areas such as HIV and maternal care.
Educated at the University of Lagos, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology and Genetics, Olawale later completed a Master of Public Health at the University of Warwick.
