Louise Hill
Speaker in Session 11
Louise is a Clinical Lecturer in Paediatric Infectious Diseases within the Centre for Neonatal and Paediatric Infection at City St George’s, University of London, a leading centre for neonatal and paediatric antimicrobial resistance clinical research in Europe. Louise’s research focuses on strategic clinical trials to improve prevention and treatment of neonatal infections.
Louise is currently a co-Investigator for the NeoSep1 trial, sponsored by the Global Antibiotic Research and Development Partnership (GARDP), which will evaluate new antibiotic combinations for neonates with sepsis. NeoSep1 aims to recruit 3,000 hospitalised neonates in resource-limited settings across Africa and Asia. Louise also contributes to SNIP-AFRICA, an African-European collaboration that aims to improve the way severe infections in newborns are treated.
Louise was previously the trial co-ordinator for the FP7 funded NeoVanc trial which recruited neonates from 22 neonatal units across 5 European countries. NeoVanc compared a shorter optimised to a longer standard vancomycin dosing regimen in neonates with sepsis. She is the co-Chief Investigator for the NeoVanc Long-term Follow-up study which will assess long-term hearing outcomes in children recruited to the NeoVanc trial.
