Ivan is a Critical Care physician, researcher, and educator with extensive expertise in clinical epidemiology, biostatistics, and critical care medicine. He is the Head of the Critical Care Research Department at the Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires, Argentina, an External Researcher at the Mayo Clinic in Florida, USA, and a member of the Research Committees of both the Argentine Society of Medicine and the Argentine Society of Intensive Care Medicine (SATI).

Ivan specializes in developing causal and predictive models for mortality and complications in critically ill patients, with a primary focus on sepsis, acute kidney injury, and critical care outcomes. He leads collaborative research projects across multiple institutions in Argentina and is committed to advancing scientific knowledge in critical care.

He is a passionate educator and mentor and a methodological advisor to Ph.D. students. He teaches research methodology at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, inspiring and fostering the growth of the next generation of clinical researchers.
