Peter Keller
Peter M. Keller (MD) is physician with postgraduate training in internal medicine and medical microbiology. Currently, he is a young and very advanced scientist at the Institute of Medical Microbiology at the University of Zurich with a permanent position. He is dedicated to pursuing a university career focusing on molecular diagnostics. During his clinical postgraduate education at the University Hospital of Jena, he was involved in the conception of a state-wide prospective population-based registry for the surveillance of nosocomial bloodstream infections and antibiotic resistances as well as for the improvement of guidance compliant blood culture diagnostics (AlertsNet). In his current position, he heads the translational clinical microbiology research group of the Institute of Medical Microbiology at UZH and is the deputy head of diagnostics at the institute. His current translational research focuses on laboratory automation and rapid antibiotic susceptibility testing.
