Shahrzad Kiavash

Shahrzad is a sepsis survivor, Paralympian, inspirational speaker, and board member of Sepsisfonden (Swedish Sepsis Trust). In her twenties, she overcame life-threatening meningococcal sepsis, resulting in bilateral below-knee amputations—an experience that fueled her passion for patient advocacy and early sepsis recognition.

Drawing on her powerful personal journey, Shahrzad works with clinicians, policymakers, and communities to improve patient safety and champion resilience, inclusivity, and patient-centered reforms in healthcare.
