Niranjan 'Tex' Kissoon

Tex is the current President of the Global Sepsis Alliance and the Past President of the World Federation of Pediatric Critical and Intensive Care Societies; Vice-President, Medical Affairs at BC Children’s Hospital and Professor, Pediatric and Surgery (Emergency Medicine) Department of Pediatrics at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC. He holds the UBC BC Children’s Hospital Endowed Chair in Acute and Critical Care for Global Child Health and is the chair of the CAPHC Sepsis Initiative, co-Chair of World Sepsis Day and the International Pediatric Sepsis Initiative, and the Pediatric Surviving Sepsis Campaign Guideline Committee.  
He was awarded a Distinguished Career Award by the AAP in 2013 for his contribution to society and discipline, the SCCM Master of Critical Care Medicine award in 2015 in recognition of his tireless efforts and achievements, and the BNS Walia PGIMER Golden Jubilee Oration 2015 Award for a major contribution to Pediatrics in India.
