Jihan is a dynamic public speaker and global health leader with a decade of experience in the United Nations, specializing in health systems strengthening and addressing maternal, newborn, and reproductive health needs in fragile and crisis settings.

A national of the Netherlands, Jihan is a member of the AlignMNH Steering Committee and has served with UNFPA in Malawi, Jordan, Mozambique, and Somalia. She has led impactful initiatives, most notably the establishment of Somalia’s first forensic center for survivors of gender-based violence, the scaling up of Jordan’s national women’s health care model, and the co-design of the UN Joint Programme on Health Systems Strengthening in Malawi. 

Beyond her work, Jihan lectures on Global Health for third-year medical students at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is a member of the International AIDS Society and the Inter-Agency Working Group on Reproductive Health in Crisis and is an active voice on LinkedIn, driving conversations around women’s health.
