Peter Wilkinson

Peter Wilkinson is the father of Mia, a lovely little 5-year old girl, who became ill with Sepsis in October 2017 as a result of Influenza A, Influenza B, RSV and invasive Strep A bacterial infection. Thankfully she survived  –however, the last 10 months have been life changing for Mia and her family as she is now a quadruple amputee. She has amazed everyone with starting school this year and now attends 4 full days a week. She is determined and has recently begun her journey back to walking and independence in prosthetic legs.  

Before Mia became ill last year, her parents had never before heard of sepsis, nor had many of their friends and family.  Through Mia's story and journey they are keen to help the medical community to improve detection and prevention of sepsis as well as raise public awareness about sepsis.
